An early August weekend was the perfect setting for this splendid event where racer from all over Europe (and a few from beyond too) get together to celebrate speed in a meaningful manner.
What could be more meaningful than racing at breakneck speed in vintage cars on a track that Sir Jackie himself nicknamed “the Green Hell” and where the Maestro would clung his 5th and last world title in a fashion (9 lap records in the last 10 laps in a 250F that certainly bore its age) that would become legendary.
Even if today’s event was a lot more restful, the variety of cars stunning cars, friendliness of the racers and the splendid weather made for an incredible opportunity to have fun and the shots our friend (and German Ambassador) Günter brought back prove the point extensively. We are, by now, fairly certain that he is some kind of wizard or magician to be able to cover so much ground – around the track, the paddocks, the pit-lane… and bring back the most beautiful pictures of every one of them….
