Race Week in Monterey – it’s so great to be back!

The reasons were good and many but the reality is that there is simply no possible replacement for the pleasures supplied in inordinate volumes by a full dose of race-week on the Monterey peninsula. Picture this: the events, the cars, the friends, the racing, the auctions, the action, did we already mention the friends? In fact, don’t picture it. Just rely on the small selection of photos we gathered for you here and make arrangements to join us next year – you won’t regret being there – we swear – at life speed!

The auctions action? Well, the main ones at least (we were fortunate enough to be able to visit both RM Sotheby’s and Goodings, always provide sights that are hard to comprehend – just have a look underneath and tell us what you think:

As to the Concours itself? well, if you’re like us you’ll want to be there for the dawn patrol – a now well-established tradition made all the more pleasant that our friends at Hagerty have gotten into the game and organize truly welcome coffee and donuts at that dawn-break (around 0600) and the atmosphere is quite friendly and relaxed:

And from there on, it is marvel upon marvel and one jaw-dropping surprise after another – Our personal favorite this year? The 8Cs category:

And for the best of all the rest, for us, of course – there was just so much to see that we can well imagine either spending a few more days to take it all in or, as is always the case in such events, miss some crucial moments: what a cruel dilemma… anyways, here’s what we came up with – just for you…:
