Another wonderful race from Revolution ’50s racing!

Held (again) under the generous auspices of the HSCC, our friend Pia and Tony managed to (again) put together an amazing plateau of race cars, all eager to burn some serious rubber at the Castle Combe track.

And they did too: from rare as a D-type (3 of them in the top 4 positions) or a Disco Volante to downright exotics as a Kellison, a Willment or a Farrallac (though if your an habitual of these pages you’ll have probably already encountered more than your fair share of these babes) – the starting grid was a dream come true.

The fact these were racing in an almost unbearable heat (cockpit temperature was measured at 114C, if you can imagine that) on an old airfield was all the more of a miracle and made for a great show.

We have grabbed a few shots from James Bird on FB (whom we thank), as he managed some cool “Suixtil moments” while the bulk of the gallery here comes from our friends at Motorsport Classics Media who delivered quite an artistic rendering of the whole series.  We trust you’ll enjoy both in the spirit they were meant to – at life speed!
