Of course, September is also the month of the Goodwood Revival and this year was rendered all the more special by the multiple anniversaries that were celebrated – from the Prancing Horse 75th birthday to MGB‘s big celebration (where our friend Davidshone in the midst of a hair-raising start of the Lavant Cup), there was to be something for everyone, not forgetting, of course, that Lord March‘s team always manage a splendid show anyways while the track offers incredible opportunities to enjoy vintage racing in all its splendor.
Your brand was well-represented by our partners at Me & My Car who had prepared a beautiful stand that got very well-attended (even if, for some mysterious reason, we got shoved over the road this year). We must admit that while the atmosphere there is certainly very different from the marketplace we remembered (but then again, that one had changed as well) it had a “welcome to the carnival” feel that was not unpleasant. A couple of other notable attractions we should mention were the proximity to our good friends and partners fromBespoke Rallies (who looked like they too were doing great) and the equidistance between the track and the ‘pre-66 parking (always a highlight for us).
The weather played nice the whole weekend and allowed spectators and participants alike an unforgettable time overall. And us, well it was just the grand ol’time we had been expecting with some extraordinary surprises thrown on top – meeting friends we had not seen in years (yes, you Jay and Kenneth and Craig and Simon and Jerome and Keith, and, and, and…). It was almost like coming home for Christmas, but with nicer cars all around, if you know what we mean. Frankly, it is almost a miracle we manage to do anything at all and even more that we grabbed so many cool photos, just for you who couldn’t make it or – if you were so lucky to be there – to rekindle that warm feeling we always got at the the Revival, at life speed!
