It’s not that the angle is different, the whole perspective changes.
A pro, like our very own Günter -gentleman racer, Suixtil German Ambassador, talented photographer and so much more – not only sees things but also knows how to capture them. It’s not even that, it’s that in an event like the Revival, where everything (and we mean everything, not just the subject, but the lighting, the mood..) moves, you need to almost anticipate the moments, especially as none of them can be easily staged or replicated.
And then you add the speed to the equation, because of course, everyone can pull of a nice shot once and again when everything is nicely laid out in front of you. But to manage great photos of fast-moving cars, even if you pray that luck be a lady (and get lucky), you’ll need more, much more – you’ll need talent.
See now, what you need to make it work at an event like this is not the odd lucky shot that you (and maybe even us, on a great day, the place is, after all, conducive to those) can pull off once in a while. It is not raw talent either, that simply would not be enough – no, what you need is D-Flawless talent, polished with lots of hard work so that you reach a stage where, like a wildlife specialist will know both the time when the big-cats come out to drink and where to be downwind from them and still get the right light, or when the cubs will come to play with their pedal-cars – sorry, mixed-metaphors, but you got the drift (funny, that), right?
Wanna see what we mean? Well, we’re fortunate that Günter has shared the attached and you tell us what you think – at life speed!
