September certainly has some great vintage racing – not high on neon lights and manhole covers but big on character, gorgeous machines and friendships – what else do you need.
And, of course, the Labor Day weekend at Lime Rock was also the occasion to celebrate the centenary of the MG marque, with a splendid grid gathering cars of all ages and a Concours that really paid tribute to the brand. And best of all, the weekend was attended by not only Dave, BARC Boys eternal, racer, MG Club dignitary and Ambassador for your brand (he must carry a few more hats that we forget here, but never mind…) who took HoneyBee (the MGA with a sting, you know her) to the tarmac, but also by Heather and Kevin who were both racing their very own MG babes, along many other friends. Oh, and because it was not quite enough, Dave also managed to (as he has done before) also race with Nazdar, his 2002 companion that he first raced back in the ‘70s, there’s just no stopping him.

And because it had been quite the weekend, Dave, with Rosemary’s ever-present help, did it all over again the following weekend at the Glen, where more wheel-to-wheel racing was to be had (also for the coveted Collier Cup) till some technical difficulties threw the proverbial spanner – we mean, who does that? really, throw a spanner? – anyways, you get the picture?
If you didn’t, we have a few, shown hereunder, just for you and, as usual, at life speed!
American Racing at its best!
