Stunning image from (and with the very kind permission and under the © of Grand Prix Photo), of American racer Harry Schell comfortably tucked in the cockpit of his Maserati 250F ahead of the 1957 edition of the Italian GP in Pescara. Harry, sporting his blue and white Florio sweater, looks quite confident – almost as if he knew that he is about to score one of the best races of his career (finishing 3rd, just behind Sir Stirling and Fangio) on a track that most dreaded. Shot in brilliant colors, the picture also gives a great measure of the beauty of the car – a model that was among the most popular that season and that would earn the marque a constructor’s title as well – how spectacular!
